A Hedgehog And A Hair Cut

Hello everyone.  I don't have any crafty goodness to share with you today, but I do have a couple other things I want to share. My good friend Susan, from Crochet Addict, has been having wonderful giveaways every Sunday and I finally won a couple of them. The first one was the hedgehog from Orna Art Heart . He arrived all the way from Israel this week.
I opened the box and found this little guy peeking at me through the package.
Isn't he so cute. She does a fantastic job with the details.
Then when you open him up you can keep some little treasures inside.  I may keep make a little pin cushion to go inside him.  Then he can keep up with my needles and such for me.
She also sent along this little horse "coin". If you would like to order your own little handmade hedge hog, or one of her other great items, please visit her Etsy Shop.

The other giveaway I won was the Merry Spinster Luxury Spa Set.
I love the colors.

I picked the scents I wanted the other day so she is getting it all whipped up for me and I should get it in a week or so.

My sweet baby girl (who is 14 ;)  ) has been growing her beautiful copper red hair out so that she could get it cut and donate it.... Well, yesterday was the big day. We loaded up yesterday morning and headed for the beauty shop.
Here she is in the car, with a big smile.  We were waiting for her grammy to get there because she wanted to watch her get it cut.
Here it is from the back. WOW!! What a head full of hair!
Here she is in the chair.  Because it is so thick it had to be sectioned into two pony tails.  She is not only donating one pony tail but two.  One of them was as much as most people donate at a time.
I didn't get a picture of her cutting off the first pony tail because I was blubbering in the background. Yes, mom did cry just a LITTLE bit.
Here it is after.  You can tell from her face in the mirror that she already likes it.
Here she is all shaped up and looking beautiful.
She had between 9 1/2 - 10 inches taken off.
Here are the two pony tails that we will be donating to the Children With Hair Loss foundation. We  did a little research before we picked which organization we would donate to and decided on Children With Hair Loss.

I'm so proud of her for doing it.  She loves the idea that all of that hair is going to go to a child who has lost most or all of their own hair.  It made her feel even better to be donating two pony tails.  Most of the organizations want at least 12 inches.  The Children With Hair Loss organization just needs at least 8 inches.  One of them was 9 1/2 and the other was 10 inches.  She loved the end of the hair where it had be cut.  It was like a super soft makeup brush and it was amazing to see all of those individual hairs.  We are also going to order her a T-shirt that says she donated her hair.  Plus they will send her a letter and certificate for donating.

Not much crochet has been done this week because we have been cleaning out the house to donate items to Christian Women of Today for their yard sale this weekend.  I also found a few things to list on Ebay as well. I plan on putting a few things I found in one of my Etsy shops under supplies. Not sure when I will get to that but hopefully soon.

Now I am off for my morning walk.  Haven't weighted in a few days but I can tell  a difference.  Hope you are having a great week and have a great weekend.
